the prices of restaurants in Port Cros have to take into account the
transport of the goods from the continent to the ile and the big
irregularity of the attendance according to the meteorological
conditions, thus, if you want to eat cheap, bring your picnic basket!!
On the other hand, if you want to take advantage of terraces on the
port and of their unforgettable atmosphere, here is our opinion on the
5 restaurants of the ile. Our
first choice: the
Trinquette,
with a varied enough card, salads, pizzas, fishes, a good reception and
moderate prices for the region, in 2008, the management changed, no
longer pizzas, but a value for money which remains correct
Le
Sun bistrot .
It is the place for the divers who come to re-inflate their
bottles before diving back after noon. Rather simple cooking, but
moderate prices. L?Anse
de Port Cros:
Specialist of the fish coming fresh from the water by
the only local fisher authorized to fish by the National park
of
Port Cros (who also supplies the other restaurants) service and cooks
well-kept. Prices sharply higher than in the Trinquette or in the Sun
bistro, the counterpart of a more smart atmosphere. The reception is
not always smiling.
L'Hostellerie
de
Port Cros:We
had an unpleasant experience with guests and the waiter took
advantage of this to push excessively to the consumption. Thus we do
not return there any more!! If
you accept to spend more: the Manoir ,
at the bottom of the bay, 400 mrs from the port, with a
magnificent terrace overhanging the water and festive and not
cheap menus. In PORQUEROLLES
Useless
to speak about value for money on the island of Porquerolles. Here, the
tourist is exploited, that begins in th paying car parks of la Tour
Fondue and continues with the maritime shuttle, which is the object of
a juicy monopoly (the price to go / return is comparable to a passage
for Corsica with Corsica Ferries in flat period!!). Contrary to Port
Cros, where the attendance is very uneven, the crowd is permanent here,
that makes the
prices excessive.
The
reputation of the island is
however such as it remains a privileged destination, in spite of the
daily budget to be foreseen !
We advise you a restaurant with acceptable prices, on Place d'Armes
(the main place of the village, crossed by all the roads of the
island): the Adventure.
Salads, pizzas and wines at correct prices, service overcharged at rush
hours.
On the height of the Place dArmes, Lou
Cigalou, with a formula today's special + economic dessert
and an attractive internal terrace under trees. Fast and pleasant
service Also on the
same place: la Calanque,
with moderate prices, but very basic cooking, and where tables are stuck one against each
other. We also
advise you in Porquerolles island the
restaurant of the Plage d' Argent:
placed on a magnificent terrace overhanging very frequented Silver
Beach (in 10 minutes by foot on the West of the harbour),
this
establishment takes advantage of its exceptional position without too
much excess. The prices are rather high, but the cooking is looked
after and rather creative. The service and the reception could be more
smiling (the boss is
completely
stressed , what sometimes gives place to unpleasant incidents,
even if we understand that the tourists are not always pleasant).
It is absolutely indispensable to reserve, possibly the day before.

forget the famous Mas du
Langoustier. For those who do not care with a
100-? addition per person, it is an excellent address, in a
site totally protected in the western South of the island. Tel: 04 94
